Around Town

Ahhhhh, the joys of being a homeowner.... LOL!

Dishwasher woes....

Well, I should have known that the seemingly perfect new house was just too good to be true. Three weeks into it, and it was evident that the dishwasher wasn't performing up to snuff. So on Thursday, we disassembled pretty much everything we could on the ol' Maytag, in an attempt to salvage the very important appliance, but our efforts were in vain. In the end, we succumbed and purchased a shiny new Samsung. It's quiet and does an amazing wash job and did I mention it is shiny? LOL!

The result of Chris's most excellent
plumbing skills|!

On a completely unrelated note....

I bought myself an around-town cruiser yesterday! I do already have a mountain bike - it lives in Canmore - and since Red Deer isn't in the mountains, I figured I'd snag myself a flashy new set of wheels for the city paths. I call 'er White Lightning!

Today I took it out for a spin, and it's super fun - 24 speeds and nice, skinny road tires means that I can peddle with the best of 'em.

Tomorrow, we're hoping to get out for a ride on the other sets of two wheels - the Harleys! And after that, just six more sleeps until summer vacation officially starts.... Can't wait!!

Cheers.

Road Trip!

This past weekend, we headed to the mountains. But instead of checking out the scenery while on two legs, we did it while on two wheels!

Highwood Pass

Love love LOVE the Kananaskis scenery!

Saturday afternoon was smokin' hot, and we rode out to Canmore from Red Deer. Sunday morning wasn't quite as sunny, but we were able to stay ahead of the rain clouds as we toured down through K-Country and over to Longview.

The Big Rock!

Chris had never seen the Big Rock near Okotoks, so we detoured over to check it out, then wound our way back north. 770 beautiful kilometres later, and we were back home in our garage. What an awesome couple of days!
