Shreddin' at Sunshine....

Saturday was a wicked-good day at the hill - Lindsay came to Sunshine with us! She took a snowboarding lesson and is well on her way to shreddin' the gnar. According to Urban Dictionary, that's a phrase that "can be used to describe any action in which you do something awesome to the extreme", and "to shred the gnar originated in the early days of skateboarding, but gnar shredding has become popular for many 'extreme sports' including skiing and snowboarding".

Lindsay shows her instructor how it's done!

Gnar-shredder to be!

A well-deserved lunch break.

Dad and daughter on the slopes.

The season is still young, and I'm looking forward to having Lindsay join us as often as she can! It was so great to hang out with her, she did fantastic, and I have no doubt that it won't be long before we can't keep up with her.....

This will be Lindsay some day!

Happy shredding everybody!

Cheers.

Friday the 13th....

Another Friday the 13th has come and gone without incident. Am I superstitious? you ask. Nope. But you'd better believe that if I'd have had some sort of a wreck at the ski hill, I would have blamed it on the date! As it turns out, nothing bad happened at all... In fact, quite the opposite - there was incredible snow, the temperature was unreal for this time of year, and we spent not one but two amazing days on the slopes.

Sticky goodness.

Sooooo happy to be here!

Saturday the 14th just happened to be Valentine's Day. Fun was had by all!

Mmmmm, rum!

Awesome conditions!

Lovin' the snow!

Livin' the dream!

A postcard view.

Jenn and Dave get ready to rock Bye-Bye Bowl.

We met up with some friends who were out for the weekend, and while their girls were in lessons we got schooled ourselves - in the heavy deep white stuff on Lookout Mountain. Good times!

Hope everyone is enjoying the Family Day weekend!

Cheers!

From Sand to Snow

This past weekend was about forty degrees Celsius cooler than where we were during the previous one.... but it was almost as much fun! We headed out to Canmore and of course to Sunshine, and we had a fabulous time. The hill could use a bit more snow - as always - but it was great skiing nonetheless.

This view never gets old!

New pink helmet!

Today on our way out of Canmore, we were treated to quite a sight - a herd of elk were grazing along Bow Valley Trail!

And now, in just eight short hours, the work week begins again. Why do days off always go by, so much faster than days at the office??!  *SIGH*

Cheers!
