The Great (and sometimes white) North

Wild. Serene. Vast. Gothic. Mystic. Peaceful.

All of the above are perfect descriptors of the Tombstone Range.

The classic peak of the area - Tombstone Mountain

What a place! The Yukon definitely has that totally untamed feel.... and the fact that you can drive for hours, without seeing another vehicle or any real signs of civilization, is unnerving and thrilling, all at the same time.

Temps were much chillier than I expected (we had one night of -10C - brrrrr!!). However, the upside to said coolness is that there were no bugs! And, since we were above the 64th parallel, I should not have been surprised at the fall-like conditions.

Okay, so are you ready for this? I am going to bombard you with around 100 pics from my trip, in the attached slide show.... sorry, but that's what happens when I'm out of cell range and don't have a computer for 10 days.... heh heh.... Note that if you think it looks wintery in any of the photos, well your eyes are not playing tricks on you - we had rain, fog, snow, 60km/hr winds, and, mixed in with it all, we even had a bit of sun every so often.

I'm back to work tomorrow for a short week, which is the start to a busy, busy month. My Sista is coming for a visit, and then I have to get cracking on the planning of my Europe trip.... Oh, the fun never ends! So exciting! Love it!

Hope all is well with everybody!

Cheers.

Beautiful photos! I'm not a backpacker by any means, but I've always been fascinated by the north and these pics make me want to head up there next summer!
