Scorching in Seattle

How lucky am I! I just spent four of the hottest days this year so far, in the amazingly beautiful Pacific Northwest city of Seattle.

With temps averaging 30 degrees Celsius daily and not a cloud in the sky the entire time, we totally lucked out - it actually almost felt like summer! LOL!

We started the visit with a gorgeous drive out to the Mount Rainier area and Chinook Pass....

View from Chinook Pass

Flip-flops in the snow!

Then we had sweet seats at a most fantastic Mariners game....

Wicked seats!

Post-game fireworks - nice!

Strolling around the waterfront and Pike Place Market, and checking out the (ewwww) Gum Wall was entertaining....

The original!!

Yep.... that's ALL gum....

Of course we went to the Space Needle, which was awesome....

Gorgeous view of the skyline with Rainier as a backdrop.

We even made our way up to Fremont, to see the famous Troll....

Under the Aurora Bridge

The Troll! Can you see the VW beetle in there?

And the highlight of the trip:  Sailing on Puget Sound.... *SIGH*....

Elliott Bay Marina

Excited to sail!

What a view!

It was definitely a whirlwind tour, but it was a fabulous getaway! I've been to Seattle and area on a couple of occasions in the past few years, however I didn't spend much time enjoying what the city itself has to offer. So it was fun to do some typical tourist-like things this time around!

Now I'm looking forward to hanging out in Canmore and to getting in a ton of hiking and climbing before I head to the Yukon.... I am soooo stoked - I'm sure the next six weeks are going to fly by! Bring it!!

Cheers.
