Projects!

This past weekend flew by, and it consisted of some rain, some sun, and lots of laughs. I learned that I really need a cordless drill, and I also learned that I really need to practice my golf swing!

The cordless drill would have made my rainy day project move along much quicker, for sure. Hanging window blinds without the aid of power tools required some elbow grease and a rum (LOL!), but in the end I got 'er done.

Before....

….. and after.

This window didn't have any coverings previously.

A few buckets of balls at the driving range likely would have made my sunny day project somewhat less of a write-off too. I came out the other side of a 9-hole round of golf at least 3 sleeves lighter - don't ask my score because I did not keep track - but I still had a thoroughly enjoyable day outside!

At least 5 of my golf balls are now
swimming around by the fountain.....
The Simpsons were awesome company!
Beauty sky at the end of a beauty day!

Now it's back to work for another 40 hours, and then hopefully out to Canmore - it has been way too long since I've seen my mountains - can't wait!

Cheers.

Good question!  😜

Operation Inspiration

A wave of emotion flooded over me when I read the news about the tragic Snowbirds accident in Kamloops on Sunday, and I couldn't hold back the tears when the CFSnowbirds Instagram account confirmed that a fatality had resulted from the crash. Just 24 hours prior, the Snowbirds did a fly-by over Red Deer as part of their Operation Inspiration cross-Canada tour.... what an incredible treat! I couldn't believe my luck that on such a beautiful day I was witness to such a beautiful sight.

I am so sad for Captain Jennifer Casey's loved ones - may she rest in peace - and I wish a speedy recovery to Captain Richard MacDougall. Sincerest condolences to the entire Snowbirds squadron as well. Thank you, all of you, for your salute to the front-line health care workers, first responders, and essential workers during the COVID-19 crisis. What a devastating end to such a lovely tribute. 💔

On a lighter note, the May long weekend consisted of a little bit of this, and a little bit of that. Walks, a Harley ride, yard games, sitting around the fire, and visiting with the cutest baby on the planet, were a few of the things that kept me entertained.

Friendly game of bocce ball - I am playing RED!!

Sweetest l'il dude ever!

And, my obsession with clouds continues....

Do these not look like jellyfish??!

Now that the snow has melted and we've had a taste of summer-ish weather, I am dreaming of the mountains and of heading to Canmore soon. Hope everyone is staying healthy!

Cheers.

The Lockdown Continues

Alas! I've survived yet another trip around the sun.... The ol' Cinco de Mayo celebration was mild this year, but it was nice none the less. I spent most of the day outside enjoying the sunshine, and I received many birthday wishes and was surprised with a few very lovely gifts.

Cool view along the river.

I would have much preferred being on top
of the peak in the painting, but.....

….the patio will have to do!

A sweet gift for my deck.

New necklace from my Sista!

As the lockdown continues, I am feeling increasingly antsy to get away from the city and hang out with my beloved mountains. Work/go home/eat/sleep/repeat is taking its toll on me. Fingers crossed that things will be back to normal soon..... although who knows what the new 'normal' will be?

Hopefully everyone is making the best of these unprecedented times.

Cheers.

Cool clouds!

Angry clouds.
