The summer fun continues!

As per how it usually goes, the summer vacation went by way too fast! It was super duper enjoyable and we hit the weather just right, but two weeks is borderline not enough time for a proper cabin excursion. It is pretty much a full day of travel each way, plus a day when you get there to unload and set up, and then a day before you leave to pack and clean up. Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining..... it is a privilege to be invited to such an amazing place! Just more time in one's happy place is always better, especially with how this year has been going.

The Shuswap entertainment included a trip up to the lovely Margaret Falls, some time spent on the paddleboard, several hours in the surf boat, many hot hot HOT afternoons on the beach, the odd game of horseshoes, evening caesars, one heck of a lightning storm, and even *GULP* a forest fire!

The crew at Margaret Falls.

We paid a requisite visit to
the Shoe Swap Tree!

Early morning sup'n is definitely the best!

Typical afternoon at Cooke Cove.

Typical sunset at Cooke Cove.

Some minor maintenance and the Moomba was back on the water!

This was a little too close for comfort... the
firefighting efforts began the next morning, with a
helicopter attack followed by water bombers.

I think everyone had a stellar time, and the drive home was even relatively calm. And it only took about three days to get through the unpacking and laundry!

The biggest challenge was going back to work, but fortunately another camping/dirtbiking trip is on the agenda.... so the summer fun is only temporarily interrupted!

Cheers!

Not quite a beach fire, but still pretty great!
